How KittyPay works

A kitty is a group savings circle: everyone contributes the same amount each month and one member receives the pooled amount, in an order everyone can see.

  1. Your admin sets up the group

Members, monthly contribution, start month, due date and the holdback % for each month.

  2. The payout order is fixed

Chosen manually or by a one-time secure random draw. Once confirmed, it is shared with all members and locked.

  3. You pay outside the app

Scan the group QR or use the UPI / bank details, then submit your transaction reference (UTR) and optional screenshot.

  4. The admin verifies

Only verified payments count towards the month’s collection. Rejected submissions come back to you with a note.

  5. The payout is recorded

The admin approves the payout, transfers the money outside the app and confirms it with a reference. It is never marked paid automatically.

About holdbacks

Earlier recipients get their payout sooner, so a small configurable percentage is held back from their payout. The final month is 0% by default. Holdbacks are recorded as accounting entries in a ledger visible to administrators — KittyPay itself never holds money.

After your payout

Every member keeps contributing every month until the cycle ends — including after receiving their payout.

Missed payments

Contributions not verified by the due date are marked overdue. The group administrator will contact the member; payouts may be placed on hold until the shortfall is resolved.

Disputes & corrections

Raise disputes with the group administrator within 7 days. Corrections are recorded as new entries with a reason — verified records are never deleted.

KittyPay is a record-keeping tool. It is not a bank, payment processor or deposit-taking entity and never holds or transfers money. Holdbacks shown in KittyPay are accounting entries, not balances held by the app.
