Last updated: 17 October 2026. Please read these terms carefully. They are a template — obtain legal review (including Indian chit-fund and collective-investment rules) before real-world use.
1. Acceptance
By creating an account, accepting an invitation or using KittyPay at kittypay.in you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. What KittyPay is — and is not
- KittyPay is a record-keeping tool for kitty / group-savings members and their administrators.
- It is not a bank, NBFC, payment aggregator, payment gateway, wallet, chit-fund company or investment adviser.
- KittyPay never holds, receives, transfers or guarantees money. All payments are made directly between people over UPI, bank transfer or other means outside the app.
- QR codes and UPI links shown in the app only open your own UPI app with details pre-filled; the payment is between you and the payee.
3. Eligibility and accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract under Indian law.
- Keep your login ID and password confidential. You are responsible for activity on your account. Change any temporary password at first login.
- Provide accurate information and keep your mobile number and payout details up to date.
- Administrators may deactivate accounts that misuse the service. Records are kept even after deactivation.
4. Group rules and obligations
- Each group’s contribution amount, number of members, duration, due date, payout order and holdback percentages are set by its administrator and shown in the app before the cycle starts.
- Every member must pay every monthly contribution for the full cycle, including after receiving their own payout.
- Missed payments are handled under the group’s missed-payment policy shown in the app. Payouts may be put on hold until a shortfall is resolved.
- The payout order, once confirmed, is changed only by an administrator with a recorded reason.
5. Payments and verification
- After paying, submit the correct amount and the genuine UPI / bank transaction reference (UTR). Optional screenshots must be genuine and unaltered.
- A payment counts only after an administrator verifies it. Scanning a QR code or uploading a screenshot does not mark a payment as paid.
- Each transaction reference can be recorded only once. Submitting false, duplicate or altered proof may lead to account deactivation and legal action.
- Verified records are never silently changed; corrections are recorded as new entries with a reason.
6. Payouts and holdbacks
- Payouts are calculated from verified contributions only, less the month’s holdback percentage shown in the payout schedule.
- Holdbacks are accounting entries recorded for transparency; KittyPay does not hold that money.
- A payout is marked paid only after the administrator records the actual external transfer. Recipients should check their bank / UPI account and report any discrepancy promptly.
7. Administrator responsibilities
Administrators are responsible for configuring the group fairly, verifying payments against real statements, transferring payouts, keeping payment instructions correct, and complying with all laws that apply to their group arrangement, including any registration requirements under the Chit Funds Act, 1982 or state laws. Members contract with each other and with their administrator, not with the software provider.
8. Acceptable use
- Do not use the service for unlawful schemes, money laundering, fraud or to collect deposits from the public.
- Do not attempt to access other members’ data, bypass security or disrupt the service.
- Do not upload malware or content that is unlawful, abusive or infringes others’ rights.
- Keep group chat respectful and on topic. Do not post other people’s personal or bank details, and never share UPI PINs, OTPs or passwords. Administrators may remove messages and lock a chat.
9. Disputes between members
Raise any disagreement about a payment, payout or record with your group administrator first, within the period set in the group’s dispute policy. The app’s audit log and records may be used to help resolve disputes. KittyPay is not a party to disputes between members.
10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The service is provided “as is”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator of this site is not liable for any loss arising from payments made or not made between users, from a member or administrator failing to meet their obligations, from incorrect information entered by users, or from service interruptions. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Indian law. See also our Disclaimer & Risk and Payments & Refund Policy.
11. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the service at any time, but your obligations to your group continue until the cycle ends. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms. Records are retained as described in the Privacy Policy.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights, courts at the place where the site operator is located have jurisdiction.
